The Forum is still inactive at one level. We do not meet on a regular basis. However, we are still out there in the community. If anyone feels a need to convene a meeting, we will meet. When that will be–?

  1. I first encountered the peace forum in the early 2000’s before entry into Iraq. Members of the forum gathered on Saturday morning on area overpasses and displayed peace signs for trucker and other travelers to honk their PEACE support for staying out of Iraq. Gradually over the months and years the steam seemed to go out of the peace movement and now we are involved in a 3rd encounter in Libya. This time the commander in Chief is our guy Barack Obama, the fellow who complained about Iraq being the wrong war, the optional war he called it. Meanwhile, as a nation we continue to squander billions and billions of our limited funds on war while the right wingers in the country want the middle class to pay down the debt for war and tax cuts to the super rich. Am I missing something? Richard

    • Richard,

I am too perplexed. I am frustrated. I am disappointed. I am angry. I believed that Obama would be a different type of leader, not another commander in chief. I thought that his priorities would be to restore the integrity of “American Ideals”. Instead we are heading toward a third geo-petrol front in the war of American greed and lust for energy and oil. Who to vote for now is a perplexing question. These are my ideas and do not reflect those of the Forum.
